Celebrating birthdays always makes my heart dance, so you can imagine my thrill at celebrating my mom’s birthday over several days and in numerous ways.
Knowing that the whole family would spend her birthday weekend together at my twin brother’s house, mom and I opted for some gals’ only time a couple of days before. We shopped (though not till we dropped), played our favorite Rummikub game for hours, and indulged in dinner at the mouthwatering Cheesecake Factory.
Once we reached Waco, my
sister-in-law joined in the girlie time when the three of us pampered
ourselves with pedicures. Not to leave
my oldest niece out of the fun, we took her for some shoe shopping and a
make-over…what gal doesn’t love that!
And while we gals took on the town, the kiddos including my big kiddo, Ken, swam until their skin looked like wrinkled prunes and played like there was no tomorrow.
Having her kids and grandkids surrounding her as she opened cards and gifts presented mom with one of her favorite moments. And what a joy for all of us to celebrate this amazing lady!
