Queen Mum's Visit Continues

Ken's Birthday Celebration
Despite a rainy start to the week, mom and I managed to enjoy some of the sights of Brussels. Of course, this meant that we sampled several Belgian waffles and lots of Belgian chocolate. We made it to the famous Grand Place with its glittering buildings from the late 1600’s. The Museum of Cocoa & Chocolate sits just off of the Place which naturally begs 2 chocolate lovers to visit.

Ken joined us for the weekend, and the three of us piled into the car for a road trip to Delft in The Netherlands. While there, we visited several cathedrals as well as the Royal Dutch Delftware Factory.

Mom also helped us celebrate Ken’s birthday today. We pulled out our raclette machine and enjoyed one of Ken’s favorite meals from our time in Switzerland. Mom brought brownie mix and hot fudge in her suitcase, so we served up hot fudge brownie sundaes as Ken’s birthday cake. Nice end to a fun week!
