The fairy-tale Kings, known as the Grimm brothers, grew up and played in this region of colorful wooden homes and surrounding forests. They compiled hundreds of stories including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Little Red Riding Hood.
The prince and princess popped in to see the childhood home of these brothers and then took in several turreted and towered castles which inspired the many fables. In Hameln, the Pied Piper’s influence was seen in statues, fountains, and even a stained glass window.
At the castle of Sleeping Beauty, a young couple in costume told the story of her spindled curse and how his sweet kiss brought her out of a deep sleep.
In one museum, marionettes took the stage for the story of Hansel and Gretel. Everywhere the prince and princess looked, the magic of the Grimm brothers’ tales came alive.
After enjoying their romantic get-away full of beautiful scenery and wonderful stories, the prince and his princess lived happily ever after…(or at least could face the start of the week with a renewed energy)The End
